- reaches out with support and friendship
- provides social skills and mentoring programs
- looks out for student well-being
- helps students to push through negatives
- engages in encouraging conversations
- advocates for students and families facing difficulty
- connects with students in their school journey
- works with other school-based support staff and community-based youth organisations
- participates in a range of general school activities
- builds relationships and grows life skills
How can you help?
By being encouraging, prayerful and generally supportive in various ways – for example, helping out on our Committee (we struggle to fill positions at times); by attending fund-raising and information activities and events; by being thankful that most schools still invite chaplains to participate in their pastoral care programs.
